A screenshot is an image of what’s on your Android device’s display.
Most users save screenshots of Android in the same location as all other pictures they take.
Of course, many makers and models fall under the category of “Android” so the ways to take a screenshot will vary.
Most Android devices can take a screenshot by simultaneously holding the hardware buttons ‘Power’ and ‘Volume down’. On some devices, there is also a ‘Screenshot’ button in the pull-down menu.
Take a screenshot of the Samsung
- Press and hold the ‘Power’ and ‘Volume down’ buttons at the same time for 1 to 2 seconds until the screen flashes.
- You should see the screen flash or change before it goes back to normal.
Samsung phones also support hand gestures to take screenshots. To do this you can:
- Put your hand in such a position as if you are going to chop the display with your palm, then swipe the entire side of your hand along the screen from left to right.

- Navigate to the screen you wish to capture.
- You simultaneously hold down the ‘Power’ and ‘Volume down’ buttons.
- Your phone will capture a picture of the screen and save it.
- On the bottom left, you will have a preview of your screenshot

Screen recording on Android

- The recording is saved to your main camera roll – likely Google Photos.
